What would my day look like?

The Snow Removal Technician removes snow to maintain buildings and grounds for our properties for our REMS and Secure Storage affiliates. We are seeking candidates for a part time or full time roles based in Baraboo to support our Sauk County area facilities. This role can be a year round position if the candidate is interested in completing facilities maintenance, grounds keeping, and/or landscaping duties in warmer months. Duties include:

  • Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events
  • Clear snow from customer sites from designated areas
  • Pile snow in designated and approved locations only
  • Operate vehicles and snow plow equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures
  • Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids or other de-icing chemicals)
  • Hand-shovel or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc.)
  • Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on vehicles and equipment as needed
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with all residents and coworkers while working in a team environment.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

We are always willing to train candidates in the earlier stages of their career or utilize the wealth of skills from a seasoned pro. Here are some skills we'd love to see on your resume:

  • Experience in related role providing snow removal services highly desired
  • Familiarity with common snow removal equipment a plus
  • Valid drivers' license and/or equipment operators certificate(s)
  • Physically fit with strong stamina to hand shovel and remove snow outside in winter weather conditions and lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Developed communication and customer service skills for interacting with our customers and internal team

What will my schedule look like?

This role's schedule can be flexible and will support schedules for our REMS and Storage properties. The role will need to be on call as snow removal needs are dependent on the weather.
