Our Small Commercial Lines department is currently seeking a State Management Analyst or State Product Analyst to join their team. This position is eligible for a fully remote arrangement.

This is a full time, exempt role.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This high visibility, high impact position provides data analysis, problem-solving, and project leadership to support a team of State Managers and help them reach their strategic goals in a region. With limited oversight, the State Analyst is responsible for gathering, compiling, maintaining and reporting financial data, participates in project work as requested and prepares standard reporting and ad hoc reporting as requested.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Lead and complete analysis to drive recommendation on strategic initiatives leading to New Business results, operational effectiveness and increased profitability.
  • Effectively monitor states performance and deliver recommendations on key areas of focus and identify areas of opportunities impacting relevant KPIs
  • Effectively manage independent projects and assigned tasks, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
  • Create effective partnership across internal functional groups within The Hanover Insurance Group and external agent partners.
  • Present to the State Management team, senior leadership and key partners on analysis and project related initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Typically 2-5+ years related experience in a similar role, P&C insurance experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI experience
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to be self-driven and collaborative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knows and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately difficult assignments
