Slide Attendant Part Time (saturdays 12:00-4:00 Pm) - Tri County
Job description
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director and Assistant Aquatics Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Slide Attendant is responsible for operating the water slide to meet the patron load.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate the top of the waterslide and enforce waterslide rules that ensure the safety of patrons.
- Create an environment that is safe, welcoming, and nurturing for all members and guests.
- Exercise mature judgment and strong decision making, especially as it relates to safety.
- Develop rapport and maintain meaningful relationships with members, participants, and other staff.
- Able to work with other staff as part of a team.
- Operate the top of the waterslide and enforce waterslide rules that ensure the safety of patrons.
- Enforce health and safety rules and maintain emergency readiness.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and responsible attitude and demeanor.
- Uphold the core values of the YMCA when interacting with people within the YMCA facilities and within the community.
- Work scheduled shifts including weekend shifts. Arrangements for substitutes must be previously approved by the Aquatics Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Individuals in this job must be at least 16 years of age and have the following abilities: exercise mature judgment and sound decision making; relate to people in a positive way; observant; safety conscious; react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
