SUMMARY

The Site Sourcing Specialist leads and coordinates strategic sourcing initiatives to improve Thomson’s performance in the areas of quality, delivery, and cost by building and maintaining strong relationships with our vendors. The two key areas of responsibility are purchase price variance (PPV) and value add value engineered (VAVE) which will require strong collaboration skills. This position requires a high level of influence and cross functional collaboration to ensure timely completion of projects and the over all success of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify projects that drive improvements in procurement efficiencies, generate PPV, indirect cost savings, improve On Time Delivery, support Quick Inventory Turns, and implementation of lean inventory strategies.
  • Create action plans which utilize appropriate resources to support successful execution of the projects and demonstrate quantifiable gains and sustainment.
  • Facilitate daily management and performance monitoring for sourcing, and provide tactical and strategic direction for the team members on the Materials Team
  • Support tactical procurement team by serving as an escalation path for expedited delivery and price negotiations
  • Develop suppliers to improve gaps to performance in critical KPIs

Expected Outcomes

  • On time completion of tollgate PPV and VAVE projects
  • Strong relationships across the organization and supplier base
  • Maintain a healthy PPV and VAVE funnel
  • High sense of urgency to resolve material shortages and minimize production downtime

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3-year minimum Supply Chain and Purchasing experience in a discrete manufacturing organization with a metric and results driven culture
  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business, or applicable on the job technical experience required. BS in Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is required
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Highly effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Oracle is preferred
  • Proactive in identifying any issues, roadblocks or risks and communicating to the appropriate people
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep track of multiple priorities simultaneously. Project management experience preferred.
  • Collaboration – build partnerships across departments, levels, functions, and vendors
  • Sense of urgency – achieving targets/objectives on time and finding solutions to stay on track
  • Influence – being able to get results from varying levels of individuals both inside and outside the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $86,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
