The Shop Leader is responsible for creating a positive environment that maintains and exceeds Floyd's service standards in client service, retention of clients and staff, technical services, and in-shop safety standards. The Shop Leader must be on the floor taking clients and be proficient in all areas of cutting.

We offer competitive service incentive (50% to start) + hourly guarantee + tips + BONUS + benefits! With Floyd's higher price point and huge client base, our Shop Leaders make between 65K - 85K, and you get PTO!!!

Responsibilities:
  • Promote and maintain Floyd’s 99 culture and core values.
  • Meet or exceed shop financial metrics with a complete understanding of shop revenue, average ticket, client headcount and retention, labor and cost control, retail sales, and employee retention.
  • Responsible for performing hair services on clients if a licensed stylist or barber.
  • Maintain a flexible, District Leader–approved working schedule.
  • Ensure proper coverage of all positions during all hours of operation.
  • Effectively communicate with various people and departments within the organization.
  • Effectively manage and resolve client service issues promptly.
  • Execute tasks and follow through to completion, meeting all deadlines as defined by a District or Regional Leader.
  • Responsible for the leadership of Floyd’s 99 shop employees in recruitment, training, product knowledge, skills development, job performance, and recognition.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled performance reviews with employees, provide timely and accurate feedback, and consistently hold employees accountable for performance.
  • Meet with employees routinely to discuss performance and development goals.
  • Communicate and hold employees accountable for Floyd’s 99 policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following all local and federal guidelines in acquiring and maintaining employee files including I-9s and Cosmetology/Barber Licenses.
  • Attend monthly Leader meetings and facilitate monthly shop meetings, communicating new or updated company and/or district initiatives to employees.
  • Conduct and assist District Leader with quarterly brand equity and file compliance audits.
  • Ensure professional and retail inventory is replenished timely and within budget.
  • Maintain & safeguard inventory & other company assets (i.e., cash, shop equipment, etc.)
  • Ensure proper cash handling.
  • Educate and encourage employees to consistently recommend and upsell retail products and add-on services.
  • Conduct technical and non-technical interviews using Floyd’s 99 tools and systems.
  • Communicate to both technical and non-technical employees about internal and external education.
  • Conduct in-shop safety audits, communicate safety initiatives in monthly shop meetings and follow all safety guidelines specific to the industry.
  • Ensure the shop and all employees follow and comply with all Cosmetology and Barbering rules and regulations as defined by the state board.
  • Ensure the accurate recording and reporting of all employee hours within the shop, including shop leadership personnel and hourly/commissioned employees. This includes any out-of-shop hours worked by shop leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with and hold employees accountable for all state-specific scheduling, meal break, and rest break processes.
Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of management experience; in any industry.
  • Active Cosmetology or Barber license.
  • 1 or more years of experience behind the chair.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
