The individual in this position will work under the supervision of the Supervisor and will conduct activities in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards. Shipping specialist ensures coordination of materials is shared between various departments such as Materials, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Accounting, and other departments to support successful and expedient product shipments and deliveries. Shipping specialist will document and process order shipments and work with transportation departments as well as vendors to ensure timely coordination of inbound and outbound shipments.

Responsibilities will also include investigating and documenting all non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to maintaining inventory records, verification of quantities received against bills of lading and shipping documents, visually inspections, counts, etc..

Skills and Abilities:

  • Create and maintain inspections sheets to meet proper configuration per defined documents.
  • Perform WM transactions to consume and receive parts into the warehouse per configuration
  • Troubleshoot Warehouse Management System transactional issues.

•Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.

  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate all logistics activates pertaining to the responsibilities in the function area.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate and experience in MS Office applications.
  • Self-directed and able to set priorities on a continuous basis.
  • Knowledge of return merchandise authorization (RMA), bills of material, and shop floor control.
  • Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Receiving, stocking/stacking, pulling, packing, and loading/unloading.

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, must be able to verify

Training and/or Experience:

  • 2-3 years shipping experience in a fast-paced environment.

• Forklift experience required

  • Inventory management experience a plus.

Work Conditions:

  • The ability to lift, move push, pull, or carry parts and loads weighing a minimum of 60 lbs. as required, to retrieve and move material.
  • Overtime work could be involved and will be required as needed.
  • Physical demands include exposure to extreme temperatures, temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the warehouse for extended periods of time.
