The Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate receiving of supplied goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing and receiving supplied goods via UPS, FedEx, and all other couriers.
  • Responsible for communicating with couriers when problems arise. Phone/Email
  • Responsible for validating component part numbers and delivered quantities prior to receiving inventory into the current ERP system. Interpreting packing slips correctly.
  • Problem solving receiving errors, missing parts, etc...
  • Works directly with Planners/buyers to resolve Purchase Order issues
  • Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Ensure that DMROs are written for all nonconforming material
  • May assume shipping responsibilities as needed to support operational needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining tooling calibration each month.
  • Inspect parts as defined by the inspection procedures, inspect parts to ensure compliance to all specified requirements and complete the required documentation
  • Responsible for keeping up with 5S in the receiving department, daily. Monthly 5S audits and surprise audits, required.
  • Responsible for the accurate transactions and/or transfers between various facilities
  • Not often, but occasionally responsible for weekend (Saturday) pickups if needed.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or as a team member

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in a receiving department preferred.
  • Experience with current ERP system along with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel strongly preferred.
  • Forklift Experience / certification preferred.
  • Experience performing mechanical inspection techniques using a variety of inspection tools preferred.
  • Experience performing inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) preferred

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

  • Lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Bending, stretching, and reaching high and low locations.
