Position Details

Under the leadership of the Shelter and Housing Services Supervisors, the Services Coordinator will provide one on one case management, housing advocacy, immediate shelter and related supportive services, and emotional support to all shelter residents. The Services Coordinator will also provide follow up services with residents who have transitioned out of Shelter. In addition, the Services Coordinator will provide emotional support and crisis intervention to callers on the 24-hour Domestic Violence-Rape/Sexual Assault crisis line, human trafficking, and other violent crimes. Under the leadership of the Supervisor, they will collaborate with their team to meet the goals of providing quality survivor services. They will provide short- and long-term culturally/linguistically appropriate services to promote the health, safety and well-being of survivors. The Services Coordinator will need to have a flexible schedule that will include working some nights, weekends, and holidays and must be available and capable to participate in the 24 hour on-call rotation for Survivor Services.


Position Specifics

  • Position Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with flexible scheduling to meet the needs of survivors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial

  • Submit expenses on time for mileage reimbursement, timesheets, and mileage logs
  • Effectively submit all funding request forms to supervisor(s) to assist clients with rent or other items when funds are available
  • Update and maintain rapid re-housing budget and ensure appropriate expenditures of grants
  • Meets or exceeds budgeted financial expectations for the program.
  • Will seek prior approval and work with the direct supervisor for any purchases that need to be made.
  • Submit all receipts within 24 hours of purchase.
  • Provides timesheet documentation for all funding sources related to the position.

Operations

  • Operate from the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Be available and capable to participate in the 24 hour on-call rotation for Survivor Services.
  • Maintain a housing directory which should at minimum include documentation of all contacts with housing providers including: corporation name if applicable, name of contact, address, phone, date of contact, and result of contact
  • Participate in meetings in all 5 counties and trainings as required
  • Complete client files within required deadlines
  • Complete Work Orders and Tech Orders as needed
  • Complete Timesheets
  • Complete all documentation and maintain files for review
  • Maintain detailed, up to date, and concise case notes on all interactions with clients
  • Provide shelter front desk and crisis line coverage as needed
  • Have reliable transportation

Client/External

  • Provide emotional support and advocacy to survivors.
  • Build relationships with community allies, promote the program to funders, units of government and others who interact on behalf of domestic and sexual abuse victims, and victims of other violent crimes.
  • Be apprised of best practices for shelter service delivery in compliance with coalition and funder requirements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of community resources in all 5 counties
  • Develop relationships with landlords in all 5 counties in order to facilitate client placement

People

  • Ensure staff and program volunteers are aware of the agency and program vision, mission & goals.
  • Participates in, at minimum, twice monthly individual supervisions with a direct supervisor.
  • Creates positive, inclusive, safe, client-led and outcome-oriented culture.
  • Serves as a public face of the Agency by interfacing with regulatory, community and funder leadership.
  • Ensures that communication with outside parties is coordinated and effectively builds positive relationships.
  • Provide tenancy support (including tenant education, financial literacy, home visits, etc.)
  • Assist clients in the housing search process, included (as needed) helping clients identify suitable housing options, accompanying clients to view units, advocating for clients with landlords, and assisting clients with paperwork
  • Connect clients to services; advocate for clients with other service providers
  • Provide emotional support, counseling and advocacy
  • Provide support and crisis intervention to crisis line callers


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience required. (Two years of experience as a domestic violence case manager in a major social service program may be substituted for a year of college).
  • Paid or volunteer human service experience preferred (with children, domestic violence and sexual assault victims preferred).
  • Valid drivers’ license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.


Must have current proof of car insurance, able to pass a driving background check, and have reliable transportation.
