Service Station Mechanic

Job Summary:

To do routine service maintenance and inspections on vehicles, equipment, and generators. Assist in operations of Service Station and Car Wash.

Essential Functions:

Servicing licensed vehicles

• Change oil and filter
• Grease all grease points
• Check and fill all tires to proper ratings
• General inspection for condition

Servicing Non licensed vehicles

• Change oil and filter
• Check other fluid levels and change or top off as required
• General inspection

Cleaning vehicles

• Clean office vehicles as scheduled and deliver vehicle

Maintenance of The Service Station & Paperwork

• Weekly service to automotive vacuums
• Enter information into the software system
• Service to carwash systems
• Change soap barrels as needed
• Keep dispensing area clean

Qualifications:

Required:

• 2 years’ experience in service and repair of vehicles and equipment.

Preferred:

• 5 years as a mechanic, certificate in automotive / diesel school.

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

Working, proficient knowledge of automobile maintenance and repair

Additional Comments:

This position requires working with oils, fuels, running and hot equipment. It will also require working in all types of weather.

Employee Class: 3/4 Time (28 hour)

Work Location: Provo Campus

Environment: Frequent exposure to unfavorable conditions such as all-weather, or working in cramped, very dirty, or unpleasant quarters

Physical Exam Details: Working with oil , fuel , antifreeze brake fluid 5 hours per day 7 times per day Coveralls , safety glasses Working in all types of weather 30 minutes per day 1 – 3 times per day Boots , coveralls Working around carwash All day Every day Hot engines 5 hours per day Every service Gloves , safety glasses

Approximate Starting Salary: $17.50 - $22.00 an hour
