Position Title: Service Center Representative.
Location: Laredo, TX.
FLSA: Non-Exempt.
Hire Pay: $15.00 an hr.
Classification: Full-time.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position coordinates the movement of customers’ materials from suppliers through our Service Center Network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates, schedules, and dispatch all service requirements of local pickups through local deliveries. Must act as the direct liaison between dock operations and the local delivery process.
  • Print deliveries.
  • Follow up and able to provide the status of the local driver’s whereabouts.
  • Use the correct shipment to fix the tracks in the system.
  • Print LH manifests.
  • Take calls and assist internal and external customer requests, including tracing and following up on expedited requests.
  • Create tracks in the system and request lock-outstation for lock-out shipments.
  • Provide and identify the status of tracking in the system.
  • Respond to emails from SCMs and attend expedited requests.
  • Send notification of late freight.
  • Responsible to collect, organize and submit the following reports daily:
  • Work on Dana report and be able to read and understand Dana crossing report.
  • Send NB inventory to the management group.
  • Coordinate, evaluate, and plan outbound loads for different centers, including coordinating loads and following up on local pickups on daily basis to check in material and update the system.
  • Work on the transfer-freight report to identify volume, pieces, and weight to send to other centers and be able to make the proper plan to move material according to due dates.
  • Responsible to follow up on pre-alerts and confirm freight.
  • Responsible to create routes.
  • Be able to create load tenders.
  • Review the logistic plan.
  • Communicate the plan to Laredo- Operations and load planner.
  • Responsible for inter-company and intra-company communication.
  • Responsible to respond all emails and following up and resolving misrouted loads.
  • Actively identifies and pursues innovative logistics approaches and makes recommendations based on analysis or information.
  • Responsible to work in the process grid.
  • Consistently provides exceptional customer service to multiple customers based on process analysis.
  • Utilizes computer techniques for analysis, simulation, or information systems and documentation.
  • Be able to resolve OS&D situations using correct shipment when it needs.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.
  • Perform dock checks as assigned.
  • SCR is responsible to check the system and pass load-out information to the dock to perform and confirm freight on the floor.
  • Notify any discrepancy and be able to follow up and update the system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job may require supervision of loading activities (varies by center).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, handle, or feel, and is required to talk.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand or walk.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Employees must be able to hear in order to perform their essential job functions.
