This is a hybrid remote position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on bi-monthly basis, or more frequently, such as in the event of a department-wide meeting, depending on business necessity. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 2 hour commute to Temple, Tx.

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Technology Engagement Specialist is responsible for evaluating, recommending, and evangelizing end user technology products and solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
  • Evangelize technology solutions, especially in the desktop and mobility space with a focus on Office 365.
  • Research new technology solutions; develops recommendations for desktop, laptop, and mobile hardware and software solution.
  • Teach and train executive leadership and non-technical users on how to effectively use their given technology solutions and how to handle various technology scenarios.
  • Monitor and facilitate deployment of new Windows versions.
  • Work closely with the Window Systems Manager to ensure a similar Office 365 experience exists in the XenApp environment.
  • Research and recommend new solutions for collaborative spaces such as Microsoft Hub.
  • Ensure any E-commerce and back of house hardware and software solutions align with McLane's overall IT strategy.
  • Work closely with Director of Information Security to ensure our desktop and mobility hardware and software solutions are adequately secured to protect the McLane brand.
  • Act as liaison between the business leadership and MBIS leadership communicating key issues and operational activities.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of broad-based IT experience in the application of technology solutions for business disciplines (finance, logistics, operations, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of features and functionality of Office 365 and its component applications: SharePoint, Calendar, Dynamics 365, Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, People, Planner, PowerApps, PowerPoint, Sway, Tasks, Teams, To-Do, Word, Yammer.
  • Ability to identify best practices and new technologies to maintain or improve business unit operational activities.
  • Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of the MBIS organization to ensure customers have effective technology solutions for their business needs.
  • Ability to communicate technical features of software applications and their potential usefulness to business functions.
