Clearview Group’s Tax Advisory Services is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland but this new employee can be hybrid. Local candidates are more than welcome to use our office space at their own discretion

What will this new hire do?
:
As a Senior Tax Accountant at Clearview, you will have the opportunity to focus on leading multiple engagement teams and clients. You will work to keep lines of communication open with both staff and clients while addressing and escalating client concerns as they arise in addition to anticipating concerns before they become problems. Since the Firm's employees strive to provide exceptional service to all our clients, you will be charged with recognizing opportunities to increase the level and types of services your clients would find beneficial. Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations with regards to all aspects of tax engagements
  • Prepare and/or review federal and state tax returns for all entity types (individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations)
  • Prepare income tax provisions for small to middle market companies
  • Assist with the tax portions of audit
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff and interns on tax projects
  • Proactively interact with client management to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
  • Understand Clearview’s practices and share information with clients as appropriate to make introductions to others in the Firm and maximize cross-selling opportunities
  • Assist on proposals and business development initiatives
  • Update tax technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, developing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Keep abreast of latest developments with tax laws and regulations

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; MST and/or CPA certification preferred
  • 2-4 years of current or recent experience in a public tax accounting environment
  • Understanding of federal and state taxes
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring associates
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships
