We have an excellent opportunity in our Military - System Engineering, Survivability Discipline Group. We are looking for a senior level research engineer to be based in East Hartford, CT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects in the electromagnetic characterization of materials used in current and next generation propulsion systems. The material characterization team is responsible for performing measurements and analysis of materials running the full gamut of the engine life cycle, from the design phase, to manufacturing and with fielded systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware and software support of RF/Microwave and Infrared measurement systems involved with the electromagnetic characterization of materials.

  • Participate in test series to gather data, review data for completeness, and perform post test data analysis to characterize materials for current and future propulsion systems

  • Participate on multifunctional teams to define, understand and characterize survivability critical materials

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with 5+ years of relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • Working knowledge of radio frequency (RF), microwave and Infrared (IR) measurement equipment

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

  • Position requires candidate to be able to obtain and or have an active DoD Security Clearance at Secret Level or Higher.

  • Willing to Travel 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have proficiency in verbal/written communication, an ability to create technical documentation, a desire to collaborate and team with others, strong technical presentation skills, an attention to detail and organizational skills, and be familiar with Microsoft Office 365 tools

  • Knowledge of the electromagnetic properties of materials

  • Advanced degree in a related field

  • Implementation of statistical tools for data analysis

  • Software skills (MATLAB, SQL, C++, C Sharp)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
