Job Description


Turner & Townsend
is currently seeking a Senior Project Scheduler - Infrastructure. Under the direction of the Schedule Manager and in partnership with the Rail Systems delivery team, the Senior Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing and owning the Level 3 schedule for this package of work. Working in collaboration with the wider scheduling function to develop EPS and WBS structures to ensure consistent ways of working, and schedule integration across the program. This role sits under the Risk Management division for this client organization, within the Schedule Mgmt Program Controls function.


Responsibilities


  • Support the Schedule Lead with the management of planning activities and reporting requirements so there is effective development, integration, quality and reporting of all levels of the schedules.
  • Develop, coordinate, and update schedules with actual progress and forecast remaining durations, project milestones, and completion dates throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct and co-ordinate reviews of Consultants, Contractors, and Vendor schedules to ensure plans are realistic and achievable, providing detailed analysis and comments on these schedules.
  • Support with the input of your Level 3 schedule into the program wide Master Schedule.
  • Prepare schedule risk analysis to forecast contingencies. Provide recommendations for increased schedule reliability and identify longest path and critical schedule items.
  • Prepare and issue schedule analysis narratives and reports including recommendations for corrective actions that are used by project teams to manage the work.
  • Apply practical field experience with planning and scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to the project schedule and suggest mitigation plans and prepare recovery schedules.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with departmental management and project team leads, and external stakeholders. Collaborate with the Functional Unit Leads Partner with the Heads of Reporting, Risk Management and Cost to establish a collaborative process to provide accurate and integrated change, schedule, cost, and risk data to allow effective Performance Controls including the provision of easily accessible and trustworthy reports to advise on performance, progress, and mitigating actions.
  • Develop, implement and utilize standard and project-specific planning and scheduling procedures in accordance with the enterprise and project requirements and procedures.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements


  • Knowledge of: Principles and practices of construction Scheduling and scheduling software (P6). Program and project schedule development and management experience. Knowledge of structures construction means, methods, staging, procurements, and disciplines. (This includes rail and rail systems construction, rail and roadway tunnel construction, rail and roadway bridge construction, retaining wall systems and other systems and structures associated with the operation of a railway).
  • Ability to: Develop detailed construction schedules from preliminary and/or conceptual plans, develop and document basis of schedule development. Identify and document associated schedule risks. Provide recognizable and understandable work activities and sequences. Meet required deadlines and deliverable dates. Document and communicate effectively with others.


Desirable requirements


  • Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Engineering related fields
  • Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications including Primavera P6, TILOS, Microsoft (MS) word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Familiarity with rail and roadway transportation projects and disciplines
  • Extensive scheduling and project controls experience

Additional Information


The salary range for this full-time role is
$95K-$185K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
