POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Manager of Procurement is a high-ranking position that exemplifies and embraces the IIG culture, core values, and vision. As a Senior Project Manager, it will be essential for you to have significant knowledge and aptitude related to hospitality purchasing and project management. A strong sense of business acumen, brand standards, budgeting, sourcing, purchasing, freight management, and installation practices will be necessary to be effective in this role. In addition, clear communication and coordination with owners, contractors, vendors, designers, logistics personnel, and installers will be crucial for profitable and successful projects. Utilizing your excellent communication skills, you will build and maintain key client and vendor relationships to ensure IIG is effectively positioned for current and future sales opportunities. Preservation of design intent and stewardship of the owner’s budget and timeline is of utmost importance.

Besides demonstrating a proven track record of successful projects and establishing and maintaining partnerships, this position requires the ability to collaborate, coach, and mentor team members in support of a continuous learning environment and common goals. Moreover, team building, motivation, and following the IIG processes are key responsibilities. Finally, this leadership role is expected to demonstrate professionalism and sound judgement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT

  • Manage assigned projects from inception through FF&E installation with minimal supervision
  • Prepare project timeline and deliverable budgets, schedules, and responsibility matrices
  • Review and approve PO’s, RFI’s and order acknowledgments as required.
  • Assure purchasing and installation process conforms to contractual agreement with client and any sub-contractors.
  • Reduce risks and company exposure
  • Meet IIG’s goals for project profitability
  • Provide risk management and solution focused mindset by problem-solving project issues: vendor, design, construction, freight, and installation
  • Participate in biweekly Project Review meeting with Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Senior Vice President of Business Development (SVP-BD), Account Executive (AE), Marketing Coordinator (MC), Vice President of Procurement (VPP), Senior Project Managers of Procurement (SPMs-P), and Accountant (A)
  • Site inspections and FF&E punch list as required.
  • Travel may be required

COMMUNICATION

  • Coordinates communication by project team members, including meeting minutes, email documentation and transmittals
  • Correspond and coordinate with design team and consultants
  • Liaison between Owner/Contractor and designer for construction schedule
  • Communicates with manufacturer representatives to research material selection costs and specification information.
  • Maintains day-to-day correspondence with internal and external sources
  • Build and maintain high-level contacts with current and prospective clients in conjunction with other business and project partners i.e.: project management companies, architects, design firms, and general contractors.

VENDOR RELATIONS

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships vital for sourcing and effective, efficient deliveries
  • Develop strong vendor relationships to support IIG’s procurement needs

LEADERSHIP

  • Create team culture that provides support and solutions along with mentorship
  • Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors, and provides performance enhancing feedback to team members
  • Enhances IIG’s purchasing and project management reputation
  • Contribute in leadership and sales meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION | PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE

  • College degree in Business (preferred)
  • 10+ years professional experience (including proven track record of achieving revenue targets)

COMPUTER PROGRAMS & SOFTWARE

  • Microsoft Office
  • Bluebeam
  • Spexx (desirable)
  • Exxpedite (desirable)
  • Project Management Scheduling Software

HOSPITALITY PURCHASING SKILLS

  • Expert knowledge of Brand Standards
  • Negotiation experience
  • Strong knowledge of vendor product offerings and costs
  • Knowledgeable on appropriate costs, budgeting and estimating techniques for FF&E and finish materials
  • Expertise in Value Sourcing (ability to source cost effective resources while maintaining or exceeding design intent)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS

  • Finely tuned time management
  • Proven track record of managing new construction and renovation hospitality projects
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently achieving high standards and goals
  • Expert technical knowledge for installation coordination of FF&E furnishings, decorative lighting, and other related interior design elements
  • Models a highly organized approach to the Procurement and Project process resulting in on time, on budget deliverables
  • A sense of business acumen to advise and guide clients as required
  • Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate complex FF&E budgets and specifications to clients
  • Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to conduct all verbal, written, and email correspondence in professional and courteous manner
