About the role

The Senior Programme Manager will support Asda's cross functional teams in executing the delivery of advanced operational and technical programmes. This includes consulting with business leaders to enact common goals, identify opportunities; scoping and assessing options to recommend solutions; and designing implementation roadmaps to enhance business performance (i.e., cost to serve, commercial models, operating models, technology delivery etc)

What you'll do

You will be responsible for being a forward thinker, driving and evolving the Wholesale and Convenience strategy. You will maintain a small, focused set of milestones and objectives which have a clear connection to Asda's strategic portfolio. You will actively facilitate stakeholder groups towards the delivery of strategic outcomes rather than simply coordinating activities and challenging the pace of delivery and taking accountability for removing barriers.

Create a transparent and commonly accepted view of current performance as well as progress towards Transformation outcomes and establishing a clear baseline and starting point, as well as the specific ways to measure outcomes as activity proceeds.

Act as the “one source of truth” during the Transformation and maintain a forward-looking approach to anticipate potential problems, challenging teams to address any issues and helping solve problems taking direct accountability where required, whilst Identifying synergies between initiatives.

You will build bridges across the business, programmes and support functions as well as between the business and its functions and partners to enforce the collaboration needed to drive successful change whilst maintaining a front-row position on major change discussions and ideation, where you will bringing expertise and ideas to infuse both enterprise and functionally relevant perspectives into key conversations.

Be able to work independently with business leadership to construct comprehensive business cases utilising all relevant data sources and various modelling methods to support corporate activities and other complex business challenges.

How you'll do it

A proven track record in leading transformations in large organisations which are heavily underpinned by marketing technology

Independent self-starter with a can-do attitude

Very strong project management skills

Strong quantitative and analytics skills, as well as business acumen and sound judgment

Knowledge and understanding of broad functional areas/processes and business architecture to design and execute cross-functional programs within a retail setting

Ability to build business cases and present value investment opportunities

Be able to lead and influence key senior stakeholders, often working in cross-functional ways where formal decision-making processes do not exist
