About this Opportunity
As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll serve as product champion for a specified product line or group of product line(s) by developing, implementing, and managing product management and improvement activities to provide optimum sales and profits. Accountable for managing the specified product line(s) to support all of the corporate strategies including the development of cross-platform work process elements, components, and collections. Serves as a critical leader within product marketing.

  • Develops, drives, and implements individual, multiple, or more critical product plans and strategy.
  • Directs ongoing analyses and leads the pricing and discounting strategy for a group of products to provide greatest financial performance.
  • Provides category feedback to innovation and kitchen development teams and support and integrate the launch plans. Support and integrate launch plans as appropriate.
  • Provides direction, make recommendations, and make decisions in support of data management system functionality and usage.
  • Supports strategic sales opportunities and provide product updates to sales. Defines analytical tools necessary to provide insight necessary for decision making for a group of products.
  • Defines product sales support and training requirements to support several products within a category. Leads presentations, both internally and externally, for critical product training and other various presentation opportunities.
  • Owns the effort to resolve quality issues, evaluate and drive changes that highly affect P&L.
  • Responsible for the financial health of the product lines or groups of products including accountability for P&L.
  • Manages the product life cycle of the product lines or groups of products from introduction, through growth and maturity, to decline and discontinuation. Provides input on product simplification/discontinuation for product lines or groups of products.
  • Acts as a mentor to help develop other Product colleagues. Provide direction and priority setting in absence of Work Team Leader.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have . . .
  • Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Business, or Design.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management/product marketing or related experience.
  • 3+ years of project management, leadership, or management experience.
  • Contract furniture of capital goods marketing experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of the customer and sales process with demonstrated customer and field interaction.
  • Full understanding of operations, production, supply management, full value stream.
  • Applies understanding of MillerKnoll’s channels, including dealer and/or retail, and understanding their main functions (sales, design, and operations) to develop product strategies for one or more products.
  • Demonstrated high level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures and processes in a logical sequence; at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial, risk-taking, and creative design orientation.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent responsibilities and work in a constantly changing environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple major projects and priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines. Outstanding leadership skills with proven creative problem-solving skills and the ability to lead through influence.
  • Relationship building within all areas of the company.
  • Proven mentoring, people development, and leadership skills, including experience leading cross functional development teams.
  • Prior product platform team and market research experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills. Ability to develop project plans and manage activities for a large cross functional project. Ability to get alignment, secure resources, and manage activities of project.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with business, financial, manufacturing, and purchasing acumen and integrate this knowledge into decision making to optimize the return for one or more products.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation and communication software and tools currently being used in the MillerKnoll office environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.

A starting compensation range for this role is $97,557.20 - $123,278.60. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
