Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) is the global campus and lifetime education arm of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a top-ranked Public University by U.S. News & World Report. GTPE offers more than 600 courses and bootcamps, 58 professional and graduate certificate programs, and 14 online degree programs in tech, business, and industry-specific subject matter to meet the needs of working professionals and industry partners. Programs are available worldwide both online and on-site. In addition to professional academic offerings, the division administers K-12 outreach and English as a Second Language programs and manages meeting and event facilities. Professional Education educates more than 90,000 individual learners each year representing industries such as data science and analytics, safety and health, cybersecurity, and project management on an annual basis and is located at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in Atlanta and at Georgia Tech-Savannah.

Job Summary


This position is responsible for the overall management of one or more portfolios of Professional Education (PE) courses, conferences, and events in-person and online. which have been developed working professionals . Responsible for promoting the value of professional education services to all existing and prospective Georgia Tech customers, managing program logistics and deliverables, developing budgets, and providing revenue forecast information at the portfolio level. Directly responsible or provide oversight for course budgets and spending for each course within assigned portfolio to ensure profitability and act as the main point of contact for all incoming requests and information. Portfolio(s) typically include a medium to high number of courses and conferences that can generally be characterized as moderate to complex in nature and scope.

This position will interact on a regular basis with: Unit staff and instructors, Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) learners, Global Learning Center (GLC) clients, and third-party affiliates and vendors

This position will supervise: assigned staff.

Responsibilities


Job Duty 1 -
Will include but not limited to managing logistics such as scheduling, venue selection and contracting, audio/visual requirements, catering, instructor and/or guest check-in, pre-course/event/conference preparation, and post-course/event/conference wrap-up duties

Job Duty 2 -
Develop revenue forecast information for each assigned portfolio

Job Duty 3 -
Work directly with outside vendors to acquire goods and services required for courses, events, and conferences using Institute-required purchasing procedures and systems. Manage course budgets and expenses for each course offering

Job Duty 4 -
Regular interactions with program attendees, students, and other campus visitors that will require responding to inquiries, providing information, and assistance as needed. Main point of contact for the duration of assigned virtual or in-person courses and events.

Job Duty 5 -
Working with GTPE Accounting and Registration to manage timelines for course closeout and revenue transfer to campus sponsoring units

Job Duty 6 -
Provide reports on portfolio performance to include year over year
revenue and enrollment data

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Communications, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Must be able to hold a security clearance (GTRI portfolios only)

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Demonstrated experience and ability to:

  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects and activities.
  • Provide a high-level of customer service and relationship management of clients with many diverse needs.
  • Interact with numerous venues and vendors using Institute approved systems and policies.
  • Track and adhere to deadlines.
  • Meet a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Travel, as needed, to support offsite courses, events, and conferences.
  • Work in the Global Learning Center as-needed to support on-campus courses, events, and conferences.
  • Effectively work remotely using Institute-approved video and collaboration tools.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


SKILLS
This position requires working knowledge of course/event organization and management and office related computer applications. Included are skills in planning, communications, budgeting, logistical support, multi-tasking and negotiations.

This position will require digital/computing skills including but not limited to collaboration tools, service management tools, event management tools, etc. and/or the ability to use and learn the specific tools used at Georgia Tech

Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
