Senior Mold Maker

We are currently seeking a Senior Mold Maker with the below qualifications:

Professional Attributes

  • Blueprint reading, following instructions, and use of CAD programs to plan mold construction operations and sequencing.
  • Project Management of tooling projects from design to shipment.
  • SME for Tool Making, DFM, DFMEA and Steel Selection.
  • Ensuring first articles of steel machining processes are completed.
  • Verification of correct manufacturing set-ups and inspection procedures.
  • Analysis and repair of existing tooling and molds.
  • Ensuring that all documentation, inspection reports, and checklists are completely and correctly populated and filed in the job history file.
  • Creating prototype products, fixtures, and jigs to check the effectiveness of newly created molds.
  • Analyzing and correcting non-conforming mold function.
  • Disassembling mold tooling for cleaning and repairs.
  • Mentoring of apprentice Mold Makers and Machining Specialists.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Certificate of Graduation from an accredited 4-year mold making apprenticeship program, and/or a Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in precision mold making, post completion of education requirements above.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Exceptional ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and results.
  • Exceptional ability to work in a team driven environment.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks and Mastercam.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer numerically controlled machine tools, precision measurement devices, and other shop equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, wrist-finger speed, and arm-hand steadiness.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision when necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Work well with fellow employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour

  • Electrical discharge machining: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CNC: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Journeyman License (Preferred)
