The Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting our reagent operations equipment, assessing equipment for optimization, qualifying replacements, monitoring our processes, and driving to exceed our customer’s demands to ensure our patients have the tests they need.

This position is part of the Reagent Operations located in Chaska and is on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and report to the Process Engineering Manager responsible for the design, implementation and support of manufacturing processes and equipment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Scope and document new and replacement equipment

  • Support existing custom equipment

  • Determine innovative solutions to solve challenging problems

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering with 3+ years of related experience, or a Doctorate in Engineering with 0+ yrs experience

  • Experience working or adapting hardware/equipment to drive process improvement in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong communication skills to lead technical projects on a specific timeline. Ability to communicate design intent, risks, risk mitigations, and impact through dFMEAs/pFMEAs.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • CAD (2D or 3D) experience

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment.

  • Statistically Savvy – DOE, and use of JMP or Minitab

  • Machining
