SUMMARY: This position is responsible for achieving Tyson Fresh Meats financial and business objectives through selling a variety of value-added proteins, managing customer support activities, managing key programs, and managing key growth initiatives. The role is a blend of product and program manager as well as business development manager. Responsibilities include collaboration with existing and future customers, internal departments to drive specific program development, customer service, contract negations, contract management, inventory management, pricing, and identifying growth opportunities. This position requires effective written and oral communication both internally and externally. This position will need to have significant understanding of commodity markets, system protocols, plant capabilities, yield implications, and the competitive segments in which we operate. One must be able to handle high intensity situations while maintaining Tyson company policies, core values, team behaviors, 5 C's and our customer creed.

LOCATION: This position will be based out of our Springdale, Arkansas corporate office. Relocation assistance may be available for those who qualify based on the Tyson Relocation Policy.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 3 plus years of Fresh Meats sales and /or industry experience is preferred. Red Meats knowledge, sales and marketing, distributor and/or customer management, understanding of the accounting pricing process and product development preferred.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Computer skills: Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, SAP experience preferred
  • Special Skills: Knowledge of Tyson Fresh Meats systems, departments, product codes, plant capabilities and product programs are desirable. Proven experience in communicating critical and influential material in a prior sales or equivalent role is preferred.
  • Supervisory: NA
  • Travel: 30% + travel required
