SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Senior Maintenance Technician position is to perform skilled sub journeyman-level work in a designated craft. Performs routine maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment, systems, buildings and grounds, and their associated responsibilities with minimal technical supervision. Responsible for carrying out tasks in accordance with standard practices of the various trades in all Research & Education Facilities at the South Campus.

Maintain an Efficient Response to Corrective & Dispatch Work Orders and Assist Other Shops

  • Monitor, repair, program and/or install critical alarms.

  • Maintain and repair existing wiring and wireless infrastructure associated with monitoring devices.

  • Work with the MD Anderson BAS Team to troubleshoot any issues and make repairs.

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and Plant controls and monitoring components associated with South Campus properties.

  • Respond to code red alarms.

  • Respond to critical equipment alarms as needed.

  • Provide back-up support for other crafts as needed.

  • Assist with Facility Shop projects as assigned by the Supervisor, Superintendent and/or Shop Lead.

  • Requisition parts and materials using Stock Issue forms to help maintain O&M Warehouse inventory.

Performs Preventative Maintenance on Equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment assigned to respective shop.

Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent. Five years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).
