In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Oral Finished Products (OFP) tableting facility in Durham, NC sits on 194,000 square feet of state-of-the-art equipment and supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. Position Purpose

Provide operational support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team, as well as assist in the maintenance & administration of automated control & IT systems during OFP site Durham project & its future operations. Responsible for the configuration, installation & working condition of the automation equipment control systems & computer Information systems throughout the facility, including site ERP systems, SAP.


Accountabilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, diagnose & resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.)
  • Hands-on with hardware & software including server room & patch room build outs
  • Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems
  • Provide tier 1-2 IT network support, including after-hours
  • Provide tier 1-2 server administration/support for onsite virtual servers
  • Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, & resolution
  • Liaison between Site end users & HQ end user support for site ERP system, SAP
  • Provide ad-hoc production support & after-hours support to the site for IT related issues
  • Inventory control of patch cables, video cables, peripherals & other IT items
  • Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements
  • Support backup/restore processes for manufacturing systems
  • Interacts with equipment & service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability &/or efficiency purposes
  • Perform life-cycle system management tasks in conjunction with corporate IT teams for network & infrastructure systems
  • Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Follow safe working practices while performing assigned duties
  • Identifies, reports & may recommend corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a supervisor, or department manager
  • Adheres to safety procedures including, but not limited to wearing product specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, safety glasses, lock out, confine space & other company policies & procedures
  • Follows all cGMPs & ensures that product is manufactured according to procedure & current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintains training readiness
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience supporting Windows based virtual servers
  • Experience supporting IT network infrastructure, preferably Cisco equipment
  • Specific knowledge of networking principles & concepts


Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in support of production operations
  • Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g., CCENT, Network +)
  • Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, beverage or relevant work
  • Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g., CCENT, Network +)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Excellent organizational & planning skills, customer service skills & problem-solving skills


Physical & Other Requirements

  • Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility
  • Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands
  • Ability to travel internationally on a limited basis
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
  • Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones
