We have an opportunity for an established Materials & Logistics professional with international shipping expertise to join our growing team in Calexico, CA.

In this role, you will contribute to team and individual success by owning and successfully executing high volumes of international shipments with strict adherence to Global Trade Compliance.

You will use critical thinking and global trade best practices and procedures in analyzing a variety of factors to effectively manage and resolve issues related to international shipments including HTS analysis, DOC License verification, and AES filing for international shipments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops solutions for inventory control and material flow through the border between US and Mexico.
  • Creation of requisitions on X-class Tool
  • Control and daily monitoring over items on hold due to special license requirements.
  • Basic use and / or application of basic functional or technical principles, theories, and concepts related to inventory control.
  • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  • Supports internal as well as external customer in all matters related to HTS classifications and material flow through the inventory control value chain.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Supports Lean activities initiated by the logistics organization.
  • Evaluates freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.
  • Examines products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
  • Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • At least 1 years’ experience related to Inventory Control
  • 2 years’ international shipping experience, or education focused on International Commerce.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

  • At least 2 years’ experience related to AES filing, international shipments and HTS classifications.
  • Proven ability to build successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • SAP or similar ERP proficiency.
