KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our design team across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Qualified candidates shall possess the knowledge and skills to develop geotechnical reports and designs for a variety of clients and disciplines. KSE has clients throughout the region that include state and county transportation departments; commercial and industrial development; utility companies; and public facilities such as parks, libraries, and schools. We are seeking a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer at our Philadelphia, PA office and will be reporting to the Department Manager. Qualified candidates should possess the following qualifications.

• Have practical knowledge of science and engineering.
• Have good knowledge of the subject and usage of computer and relevant software.
• Knowledge of basic software tools including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of basic lab and field equipment for making evaluations of soil conditions.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Develop proposals involving field testing and data collection requirements.
• Work/Interact with other KSE discipline/office team members, clients, contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Take an active role in business development.
• Perform/review geotechnical analyses and calculations and assist with drawings, specifications, and cost-estimate preparation.
• Perform/train others to carry out geotechnical field investigations and construction observations.
• Perform technical research in developing solutions to engineering problems including geotechnical evaluations to prepare calculation documents.
• Prepare and/or review detailed geotechnical reports; technical reports, memos, field/lab testing results.
• Prepare and/or review/respond to RFIs, make recommendations, and convey engineering solutions/recommendations.
• Assign work to other department staff and keep them billable.

Education Requirements:

• BS in Civil Engineering is required. A concentration in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
• MS in Civil Engineering is desirable.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
• Project experience with the PennDOT, NJDOT, DRPA, City of Philadelphia, or similar agencies.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and related software.

Professional Licenses/Registrations:

• Must have PA Driver’s License.
• Professional Engineer License is required with ability to obtain reciprocity in PA, NJ, and NY.
• Qualify for ASCE Grade V.
