Job Explaination:

Puzzle Effect Game Masters hold a critical position within the company. Their core responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, introduction of games to customers via in-store, phone, and social media communications, and the resetting/cleaning of rooms after each customer experience in an efficient and timely manner. This position reports to Senior Game Masters and the Store Lead, and additional tasks may be assigned by them as necessary.

Job Compensation:

Starting salary is $16/hour.

Work Activities:

  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and Holidays.
  • Be the face of Puzzle Effect and represent our brand and passion for fun and safe entertainment.
  • Work directly with the public and peers.
  • Inspecting and repairing various equipment, props, or electrical devices.
  • Communicating with supervisors and peers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Reset rooms with speed and accuracy in a safe and proper manner.
  • Solve technical difficulties with games in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist with closing and opening duties as necessary.
  • Be knowledgeable about our games, products, and overall industry.
  • Reservation duties that include but are not limited to: Taking customer phone calls, responding to customer inquiries, taking reservations and processing payments.

Day-to-Day Expectations:

  • Opening and closing of the store and ensuring all items on both opening/closing checklists have been completed during their shifts.
  • Ensuring proper staffing needs are met throughout the week, calling in or calling off employees as needed.
  • Prep rooms for customer use based on Puzzle Effect reset guidelines.
  • Enforce rules, regulations, and safety standards at all times.
  • Meet and greet clients with energy and positivity, check them in, and assist where necessary.
  • Use provided software to create/modify reservations and leave detailed notes.
  • Present rules and tips to customers before their booking and answer any questions.
  • Use provided gaming/camera software to guide customers through their experience with attention to detail and ensure that each booking has a high quality, fun, and safe experience.
  • Provide any merchandise, booking, or promotion information to customers.
  • Take fun and engaging photos of customers to commemorate their experience.
  • Use social media platforms to engage with our customers and community.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure proper working and operational conditions are upheld.
  • Ensure the end of day cash log and any deposits are correctly completed.

· Physical Demands

Occasional climbing of ladders or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching. Frequent standing; walking; sitting; reaching with hands and arms; regular use of hands and fingers to handle or feel; requires speaking and hearing.

· Lifts Weight or Exerts Force Work Environment

Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, infrequent lifting to 30 pounds.

· Vision

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision; Distance vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception; Ability to adjust focus.

Desired Qualifications:

· Education and Experience

Years of Experience: 2+ Years Customer Service

Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D.

  • Excellent communication skills. (Email, phone, in-person, and social media)
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and team building skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Follow through on all customer questions, requests, and resolve concerns as needed.
  • Follow and comply with established company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools, crafting supplies, and small power tools.
  • Helps create a team environment, encouraging others at every opportunity.
  • No prior escape room knowledge needed; all training will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
