Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Portal Team, a core part of our growing Engineering team. You’ll work to extend and maintain a platform built with the newest technology in the cloud, including React and Go, and hosted on K8s. You’ll join a highly engaged and technical group that is well-versed in building enterprise-ready and extremely secure software systems, and play a core role in evolving the technical health and capability of Acuity’s software products and services.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Building tools and services for improving our internal techniques for wiring up, maintaining, and extending highly reliable software services
- Working with the larger Architecture team to help establish architectural standards that will drive the development workflows of the larger Engineering organization
- Mentoring, pairing with, and generally supporting the growth and leveling up of members on the team
- Working with leadership to identify opportunities for building new, buying, or leveraging and contributing back to open-source projects
We are looking for somebody with:
- A team player mentality who takes pride in their products and enjoys challenging themselves
- Experience in an agile way of working
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles
- Fluency in more than one language, preferably C#, Golang, or Java
- Experience deploying or operating software services on public cloud provides (Azure, AWS,GCP)
- High personal performance standards with drive and a clear “can do” attitude
- Full stack competence - you’re well versed in API design and can make solid contributions to a frontend codebase
Preferred Skills:
- Confidence working with containers
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of networking concepts
- DNS, SSL, load balancing, and general traffic routing and management
- Experience with DevOps – DBs, pipelines, monitoring, deployment, etc.
- Deep understanding of performance issues in web applications
