Shifts: 11am-730pm 5 days per week which include weekends & some holidays.

Applicants should be COVID Vaccinated and Boosted.

DESCRIPTION: Under direction of a Cook, Head Cook, Food Service Supervisor, or other supervisory official, assists with the work involved in food preparation and service and may take the lead in a group of Food Service Workers, patients, or inmates engaged in storing and preparing food for cooking and in serving food; does related work as required.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in general unskilled kitchen or food service work.

JOB DUTIES: Food handler / Dietary Aid

Duties may include but not limited to: Serving resident meals restaurant style

Preparing resident food trays, Transporting meal carts to other kitchens & nursing wings, Daily cleaning & sanitizing of equipment.

Working in dish room, Washing pots & pans, Taking out garbage

May assist in cold food preparation desserts & salads

SPECIAL NOTE: Effective January 13, 2022, the Executive Order #283 and the final ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court mandates all staff working in long-term care facilities and nursing homes to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Executive Order #290 issued March 2, 2022, all employees that are eligible for a booster dose must receive their booster dose by April 11, 2022 or within three weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose, whichever is later.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

RESIDENCY LAW: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” which became effective September 1, 2011, all persons newly hired by the Executive Branch on or after that date shall have one year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey. New Jersey State employees hired prior to September 1, 2011 who transfer from within the Executive Branch or from another State of New Jersey appointing authority without a break in service greater than seven days but who reside outside the State of New Jersey are not required to change their principal residence to New Jersey in order to comply with the act.
