Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance – Logistics Analysis

As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Corporate Finance - Logistics team you will be a strategic partner to our global logistics and finance teams. You will provide the critical analyses and drive the strategies needed to support our global supply chain’s goals and objectives. This role presents the opportunity to partner across divisions and functional areas on a daily basis, giving you exposure to C-level executives and business leaders across TJX.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial models and reporting that facilitate analysis of key initiatives; develop materials that clearly communicate project findings

• Present analysis results across all levels of management, including key members of Finance, Logistics and C-level executives

• Lead analysis of Logistics Strategy in order to provide actionable recommendations that support the organization’s goals

• Analyze freight data to produce comprehensive financial forecasts to support both logistics operations and divisional finance teams

• Partner closely with divisional Financial Control, Distribution Services and Store Operations groups on key transportation assumptions and freight drivers

• Evaluate new opportunities for cost mitigation and process improvement, developing recommendations for TJX leadership

Typical Projects:

• Supply Chain Optimization – Scope, evaluate and track key Logistics Cost Savings Initiatives that impact the freight forecast, evaluate potential downstream impacts to distribution centers and stores, and present findings to key Logistics and Finance executives

• Quarterly Earnings Support – Freight analysis and attribution that provides clear and concise insight to TJX freight drivers as part of Quarterly Earnings and Investor/Analyst preparation; This provides direct access to TJX Controller and CFO as we share how freight is impacting total TJX P&L

• TJX U.S. Freight Forecasting – Create and maintain freight forecasts for divisional finance teams and logistics operations

• Support Senior Management –Presentation preparation and KPI reporting for Board of Director’s and Operational Summit meetings

• Return on Investment – Evaluate transportation projects to determine if the projects support the long term growth of the business and meet key investment criteria

• Performance Attribution – Identify key freight trends and partner with logistics to apply learnings that will improve performance

• Merchandising Initiatives – Determine if certain merchandising initiatives create incremental freight expense or savings

Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ years of professional experience, backgrounds in Finance, Consulting or Logistics/Supply Chain are preferred

• Understanding of and experience with key financial concepts, including but not limited to the financial statements, attribution analysis, cash flow and return on investment

• General understanding of and experience in supply chain fundamentals and freight forecasting

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to simplify complex projects and present summary details and conclusions

• Self-starter who takes ownership of her work and has strong attention to detail. Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities

• Interest in being part of a team environment with rapidly changing assignments. Experience in project management and / or prioritization is a plus

• Demonstrated aptitude with Microsoft Office applications including an advanced understanding of Excel and PowerPoint

• Demonstrated aptitude with databases including SQL and Access

• Bachelor’s degree with majors in Finance, Economics or Logistics/Supply Chain being preferred but not required
