What you will be doing

The Supply Chain Technology Department has an opening for a Sr. Director Technology-Supply Chain Intelligence based in Pleasanton, California. SC-Intelligence includes technology product lines for Enterprise Inventory Management, Guided Analytics, Process Automation and Supply Chain Finance.

The word is “Supply Chain” - every retailer depends upon it to get the right items in the right place at the right cost to drive sales. Albertsons Companies has embarked on a strategic transformation of our Supply Chain technology. We are moving towards a real time digital supply chain across our 22 Distribution Centers and 18 Manufacturing Plants. This role is a key enabler by providing visibility and management for enterprise-wide product inventory, identifying core operational opportunities through guided analytics & initiating machine intelligence-based actions. This person is accountable for delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient technical solutions including coordinating with senior business and technology leadership to ensure adoption and value delivery.

This role requires an experienced technology leader with a demonstrated background delivering innovative solutions, developing a high-performance culture within your team and ability to partner with business leadership. Industry domain knowledge on retail supply chains and inventory plus technical expertise on analytics is required. Experience with product strategy development, cloud technologies, financial management, vendor management and team development are essential.

This position will report to the VP Supply Chain Technology. Members of the team are based in Pleasanton CA, Boise ID, Vancouver BC, and Manila PH. Communication skills at all levels of the business and technology organization are critical to success.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, California or Plano, Texas.

Main responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for multiple product lines across the supply chain technology suite including Inventory Management, Analytics and Supply Chain Finance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify transformative opportunities, define capability gaps, and deliver technology solutions to empower transformation.
  • Translates business domain understanding and context into technical strategy for product managers, technical architects and engineering teams to deliver against.
  • Technology focus will be on Google GCP and Microsoft Azure toolsets plus multi-cloud integration.
  • Develop and grow your team as they gain expertise on the new solutions and technologies.
  • Resolve risks and issues that span across product lines, with responsibility to provide cross-track program visibility and appropriate updates to senior leadership teams.
  • Perform regular reviews for project/program status, metrics, financial reporting, KPIs to ensure successful solution delivery. Foster a strong work environment that rewards individual and team efforts; encourages creativity while maintaining a high caliber productivity and quality.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Replenishment and Fulfillment Engineering Directors, PMO/VMO, Architecture, Platform Services and Support teams to deliver and maintain solutions.

The salary range is $ 191,600 to $280,940 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related degree
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and developing technology innovative technology solutions.
  • Experience gained in a Technology Management role, building, leading, and mentoring geographically distributed teams, able to guide them and drive best practices.
    • Experience working with vaguely defined objectives to create transformative solution roadmaps.
    • Must possess superior problem-solving skills, be action-oriented and decisive.
    • Extensive creativity, drive, high energy level, and the ability to self-manage.
    • Relentless focus on creating exceptional user experience solutions driving business value capture.
  • Experienced in delivering projects, collaborating with distributed global teams in a flat matrix organization and working alongside the business leadership teams.
    • Previous leadership experience with large projects in Retail Supply Chain around inventory management or product flow. Multi-Cloud data integration is a core enablement for these solutions.
    • Significant understanding of and experience in best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-track program level risks, interdependencies across projects.
  • An excellent communicator - for building relationships, managing stakeholders, working with clients and technology teams - both orally and written and for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
    • Effective time management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts, ideas and strategies to senior leadership and end-users.
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel and train team members.
