GENERAL FUNCTION:
The incumbent is responsible for leading and improving ongoing strategic and business planning for the Technology and for leading major Technology initiatives, ensuring the strategic vision is executed as intended. Provides insight and decision support to the technology senior leadership team through evaluation of technical and operational complexity, including organizational impact. The incumbent works across the Technology organization and with other key business partners to identify opportunities for the team's evolution to becoming a world class technology organization. Will work with the leaders and business partners to prioritize initiatives. The incumbent will also be the Technology lead on any merger and acquisition technology activity for the organization.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with technology leaders and business partners to execute on key initiatives.
  • Provides strategic technology consulting on key initiatives and is seen as an expert in their area of knowledge.
  • Lead technology person for any mergers or acquisitions. Will coordinate all technology related activities between Fifth Third and partner company.
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership on technology consolidation for all merger and acquisitions.
  • Evaluates opportunities and executes efforts to lean out processes within technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Works with the Finance team to ensure Technology budgets align with Bancorp strategies and priorities and leads through adjustments as new priorities impact the organization.
  • Works with Technology leadership team to identify initiatives to enhance the value of technology team to the organization.
  • Embraces change and models the way in working cross-functionally and collaboratively to influence desired outcomes.
  • Guides other team members to goal achievement and team success.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 15+ years of IT and business/industry work experience with at least 3 years in a strategic leadership role.
  • Must be outcome-driven and customer-centric as well as familiar with agile and lean principles including Six Sigma
  • Proficient in successfully managing multiple, medium to large cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Ability to lead leaders, teams and staff through significant change, using influence, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Exceptional analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations and successfully present information to executive audiences.
  • Ability to gather inputs from a wide variety of perspectives and make informed decisions; willingness to stand by decisions of the team; demonstrated transparency and decisiveness.
  • Results driven, highly motivated self-starter who possesses integrity and a strong work ethic.
