Our Manhattan office is looking for a Senior CAD Manager/Lead with a high level of experience in managing CAD and BIM on Infrastructure projects. In this position you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of entry level and mid-level CAD staff, providing guidance and ensuring quality control compliance. Responsibilities and duties will include the following:
  • Understand and interpret project CAD standards, codes and specifications related to infrastructure projects
  • Work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a team environment to resolve design/drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable CAD products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Assist in administration, training others on CAD systems and company standards
  • Identify the needs and professional development for CAD operators to ensure skills match project needs
  • Answer questions from managers and staff on CAD standards, proficiency of CAD users
  • Leadership skills needed to supervise and assist the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters who share in the design effort

Candidate Specification

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • 10+ years in a lead CAD role on infrastructure projects
  • Particular experience on tunnels, road, bridges, transit facilities and related buildings
  • The ability and skill level to organize, delegate and oversee a team of designers and draftsman to complete a project from start to finish
  • Understand the scope and limits of responsibility between various engineering disciplines and project support groups
  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal schedule
  • An advanced understanding of CAD software including all or some of the following; Bentley/ Microstation/OpenBuildings products, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit
  • Willingness to acquire proficiency in other CAD software as needed
Salary Range: $87,500-$130,000
