Position Summary:

The Cost Analyst will function as a key business partner to plant leadership and will coordinate financial reporting, planning, and forecasting.

People or Process Management Responsibility: No

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:


  • Provide primary financial support for 2 manufacturing facilities.
  • Responsible for the monthly manufacturing close process and financial reporting.
  • Partner with Plant Directors to develop annual budget and set standards.
  • Perform monthly analysis of manufacturing variances and partner with the operations team to address variances.
  • Utilize the forecasting tool to close gaps vs. budget and minimize manufacturing variances.
  • Partner with Plant Management and Project Management to perform Return on Investment analysis related to manufacturing capital projects.
  • Develop costs for new product launches.
  • Benchmark costs between plants and recommend sourcing changes.
  • Partner with general accounting to ensure accuracy of Financials.
  • Partner with the controls department to ensure effective internal/inventory controls.
  • Provide training and leadership to plant staff to increase financial acumen.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, quantitative skills and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time, with ability to delegate and prioritize workload assigned to the team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must pass post-offer background check and drug test


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Manufacturing accounting experience at a corporate or plant level preferred
  • CPA / CMA preferred
  • SAP, COGNOS, TM1 experience a plus
