DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you perform a wide range of clerical duties to enhance staff members' ability to provide quality services to the citizens of Pennsylvania. You'll engage in a variety of clerical and general office duties by following office procedures and using relevant systems. Clerical Assistant 2s interact with the general public in a courteous and professional manner both in person and via telephone. Your basic computer skills are put to good use. You perform various office functions including data entry, customer service, scanning, imaging, filing, answering phones, and processing mail and voice mail. Job duties are carried out under the general supervision of a Clerical Supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment, 37.5-horu work week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm*, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
    • May change based on operational needs.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.
  • Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $32,978 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lancaster County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lancaster County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
