We are seeking a Sr. CAD Drafter / Technical Designer to join our client, a leading Cold Storage company out of Perris, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
As a lead on the team you will be responsible for identifying potential operational roadblocks and redesign processes to improve functionality, performance and process with department members and c-level.

We are seeking a Sr. CAD Drafter / Technical Designer to join our client, a leading Cold Storage company out of Perris, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
As a lead on the team you will be responsible for identifying potential operational roadblocks and redesign processes to improve functionality, performance and process with department members and c-level.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and update project schedules; manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Create Construction/Shop drawings using 2D or 3D drafting software programs.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other programs to develop layout and diagrams, with attention to detail.
- Consult ICC/California Building Codes, technical handbooks and guidelines and assist with research and code compliance.
- Assist with the completion of drawings re-lined by Project Managers and City Officials.
- Create drawings for industry specific projects based on preliminary sketches, concepts and data.
- Prepare, modify and maintain accurate catalog drawings from existing and new products for production and quality control.
- Prepare product assembly or construction drawings for existing/new products as needed for sales staff and special drawings for plant projects as needed.
CAD Drafter will:
- Work directly with Owner, Sr. Construction Coordinator, Engineers and Field Supervisors.
- You'll be able to prepare working construction documents, (primarily architectural with some structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical).
- Lead the dept, serve as a point of contact and reference to other drafters and project managers.
- Work with the dept manager in identifying performance issues and evaluating other dept drafters.
Requirements:
- 3+ years recent experience in related use of AutoCAD software (Bluebeam a plus)
- Have knowledge and be familiar with basic construction document requirements and the permitting process (cold storage construction a plus).
- Superb creative problem-solving, organization, and time management skills
- Self-motivated with Strong, clear and service-oriented communication and presentation skills
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret sketches, construction, and civil plans. Ability to read blue prints
- Must be detail oriented and able to handle several projects at once with minimum help from start to finish. Ability to meet. guidelines and timelines.
- Ability to work within a team and proactively create harmonious and professional relationships.
