Senior Business Systems Domain Manager, Manufacturing IT

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing team in El Segundo, CA as a Senior Business Systems Domain Manager in Manufacturing IT. The Manufacturing IT department is responsible for working with functional business partners in the design, build, deployment, and support of business applications globally.

As a Senior Business Systems Domain Manager, you will be an integral and highly visible part of Kite’s Manufacturing IT team, reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing IT. This role requires excellent management and leadership experience to work with Manufacturing, Facilities Engineering, Planning, Quality and Validation partners in the design, deployment, and support of business applications supporting the Manufacturing organization. This includes identifying new enhancements and integrations, request prioritization, gathering of detailed requirements, coordinating user acceptance testing, guiding requests through the product development lifecycle, and overall adherence to Kite’s validation framework.

Responsibilities of the Senior Business Systems Domain Manager, Manufacturing IT include (but are not limited to):

  • Serve as a liaison between business, project, and IT teams
  • Assume Business Analyst responsibilities through the full life cycle (Pre-project - Sustain)
  • Be the champion for the voice of customer, bring the customer’s voice into the design process.
  • Support development of business cases for new system functionality and new IT solutions
  • Facilitate process re-engineering workshops with business and IT stakeholders
  • Work alongside business groups to capture requirements and their priorities
  • Document process steps and systems enhancements required to support business processes
  • Translate business requirements to functional requirements and communicate these to technical teams
  • Perform impact assessment on changing product capabilities, including impact to integrated boundary systems
  • Work with site business subject matter experts to define critical business scenarios, improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
  • Support creation and overseeing of change requests
  • Participate in needed software configuration, documentation, and validation
  • Coordinate testing of changes and enhancements with the business to ensure successful delivery
  • Complete value-affirmation activities with business partners and end-users to ensure projects meet business objectives
  • Develop interactive data visualizations using web-based technologies, Spotfire/Tableau or other visualization applications, to drive insightful decision making
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders across dispersed geographies and time-zones.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MA/MS degree with 6+ years of relevant experience OR
  • BA/BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR
  • High school degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Expert understanding of SAP PP and QM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/life science industry strongly preferred
  • 2+ years Systems experience skills: Data mining, Tableau, and SQL skills
  • Experience in Project Management, preferably with Agile Methodologies or SCRUM Framework
  • Meaningful understanding of E2E Manufacturing and related system processes
  • Experience with SAP MM and WM
  • Experience with Maximo, ROBAR, BarTender and AWS
  • Experience in standard software development methodologies (Agile, Rapid, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Understanding the fundamentals of data migration, conversions, integrations, and extracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities

The salary range for this position is: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
