The Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (DPRT) is a nationally accredited department awarded accreditation by the Commission for the accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies. The department operates a 4,400+ acre park system comprised of 81 properties and 60+ trail miles. Our staff operates a diverse portfolio of recreational facilities, services, and programs. DPRT provides unique leisure experiences for residents of all ages, abilities, and recreational interests.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Senior Business Services Analyst will oversee the consistency of business administration for the Recreation Services Division of the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. This position will also oversee the functionality of recreational software, ensure effective and efficient processes, train managers and part-time staff, and be responsible for leading innovation.

Other responsibilities include ensuring goals and objectives are met through the regular assessment of practices, processes, and systems, and working collaboratively with staff to implement strategic changes. As the Senior Business Services Analyst, you will supervise three full-time positions and report to the Recreation Senior Manager.


Successful candidates will have:

  • Direct experience in recreation management software, employee training and supervision
  • Participative leadership qualities, including staff supervision, operational decision-making, and team management
  • Direct experience in business process development and software project management
  • Controls necessary to ensure business processes are consistently implemented across multiple sites
  • Consensus gaining oral and written communication skills
  • Have demonstrated experience providing quality customer service
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or G.E.D. and 5 years of related experience.


PREFERENCES

  • Certified Parks & Recreation Professional preferred
  • Expertise with RecTrac software
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a collegiate/municipal recreation setting
  • 3+ years of customers service experience in a recreational environment
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite
  • Experience working autonomously requiring minimal direct supervision while meeting departmental goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the hiring and selection process for ensuring a pool of qualified applicants
  • Proficiency in POS operations, budgeting, and reporting using various applications such as RecTrac, MS Excel, etc.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
37.5 hours per week. A typical schedule falls between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday work required based on operational and event schedules. This position is classified as exempt and can adjust hours to meet operational needs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism conducts DMV record checks on all licensed employees and criminal background checks on all hires 18 years and older. Fingerprinting may be required. A valid driver’s license is required.

STARTING SALARY RANGE
$62,613.00-$77,453.00
