In the Senior Analyst, Payroll position, you will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining a working knowledge of all labor contracts for represented employees and pay policies for non-represented employees. You will participate in the coordination and implementation of the new labor contracts and pay policy profile changes into the Workforce and Workday Cloud System solutions. You will Investigate and resolve inquiries from employees, management or Labor Relations concerning the inaccurate processing of Payroll. You will manage the installation of system enhancements and defect resolutions of system configurations for Workforce/Workday with IT, HR/Labor Relations and/or third-party programming resources. You will work closely with Payroll team members, HR and IT representatives to create business solutions that are in line with the functionalities of the Workforce and Workday technologies. You will participate in and or direct the periodic upgrades of Workforce and Workday system solutions.

  • Works with the Payroll Team to ensure there is a working understanding of the union contracts and non-union pay policies
  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of system solutions that support the Payroll business process.
  • Maintains the configuration tables in Workforce with team members
  • Prepares special reports and internal/external data request responses
  • Responsible for handling the weekly Payroll Close process
  • Works with the HRIS System analysts to ensure that the proper integration of payroll data from Workday and Workforce systems to other external vendor systems (ie: ADP, Equifax)
  • Develops and rolls out Payroll Department job aides and training on applications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of system development methodologies, application development and support and information system technologies
  • Requires strong analytical, project management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access), report writing tools and Human Resources Information Systems (preferably Workday)
  • General knowledge of Human Resources and payroll business functions preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Masters or MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Five (5) to eight (8) years business, information systems and/or technical experience

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
