POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accounting Manager will assist the Controller with planning and directing the accounting activities of the department. This role will be responsible for the execution of accurate and timely financial reporting to the parent company, Envoy Solutions, LLC and will support with activities pertaining to the maintenance of the general ledger and completion of monthly financial statements. Key accountabilities in General Ledger; month-end close; posting and reconciliation of journal entries; financial statement preparation and analysis; budget preparation; bank and account reconciliations; bulk business analysis.

This is an exempt salaried position, Core Business Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Act as a key member of the finance leadership team, supporting the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Manage rebate receivables against collections, primarily for cost deviation reimbursements.
  • Support financial integration initiatives with parent company, Envoy Solutions, LLC; collaborate on projects to reach business objectives.
  • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Present recommendations to leadership on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements in all areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries. This includes obtaining data from source systems, reconciliations and following up on reconciling items with internal and external parties.
  • Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and components of reporting package typically in 3 business days.
  • Provide backup for monthly closing.
  • Document month-end close procedures.
  • Manage back-end income process reconciliation utilizing vendor spend, specific program and reconciling to cash, credits and deductions received/taken.
  • Maintain and implement accounting controls to be SOX compliant.
  • Assist with the financial budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring.
  • Support parent company with analyzing weekly cash forecasting.
  • Facilitate and prepare PBCs during financial audits to fulfill requests timely and act as a liaison with external auditors.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are resolved timely.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Support Assistant Controller in governmental filings (sales and use, income) and compliance filings (401k to TPA, 1099s, etc..)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Liaise with warehouse for cycle and inventory counts.
  • Pulling ad hoc reports or other data sources for analysis.
  • Use Excel to compile GL data for ad hoc analysis.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Related Field; dual major in Finance a plus.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant.
  • At least 3 [5 for Senior Manager] years of experience managing an accounting team.
  • At least 6 [9 for Senior Manager] years of experience stemming from corporate accounting, Big Four / National Accounting audit or Accounting Advisory practice.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • A high degree of business acumen.
  • In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and advanced / expert Excel skills.
  • Experience with sales and use tax and associated nexus a plus.
  • Experience with payroll a plus.
  • Experience supporting a distribution firm a plus.
  • Experience in a SOX environment required.
  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries a plus.
  • Experience preparing consolidating entities a plus.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

SEDENTARY – Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
