As a premium accounting and consulting firm specializing in taking companies public and technical accounting, we are urgently looking for Two Senior Accountants to join our team! Must have public accounting experience!!

?????Our focus is on accounting services for the cannabis industry, taking cannabis companies public, acquisitions and managing all aspects of their financial reporting. For these roles we are looking for individuals who have an entrepreneurial mindset, are ambitious and are interested in the cannabis industry

Pay: $85, 000 - $100, 000
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).
  • Ability to build financial statements and audit packages within audit software programs.
  • Ability to prepare a complete set of notes to the financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Ability to review and interpret agreements to identify potential accounting issues not addressed by clients (i.e. debt, equity, etc. agreements).
  • Ability to research accounting guidance and arrive at conclusions for moderately complex accounting transactions including, but not limited to, stock-based transactions, debt and equity transactions, revenue recognition, and new accounting standards.
  • Ability to prepare accounting memos on the proper accounting and treatment of moderate to complex transactions including, but not limited to, the basis of consolidation, revenue recognition, lease accounting, etc.
  • Ability to reconcile G/L accounts and review reconciliations for proper accounting treatment and or errors.
  • Ability to coordinate internal teams and external teams (client or auditors) on engagements.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and auditors.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and auditors on various issues including, but not limited to, reconciliations, proper accounting treatment of transactions, planning, and project status.
  • Ability to manage client expectations and drive project deliverables in a timely and organized manner. This includes taking responsibility to ensure client deadlines are met and all task items were performed.
  • Ability to pull in managers and senior managers to assist with complex accounting transactions or any other issues needed to complete an engagement. This means assigning and organizing task items for a manager or senior manager in a manner that seamlessly pushes the project forward.
  • Effectively communicate with internal management and staff on engagements to ensure everyone is aligned and aware of the status of the engagements and specific projects.
  • Experience with creative problem-solving and alternative procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office Suite user, particularly Excel (formulas, functions, macros, queries, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Advanced Competencies (In addition to the Base Competencies noted above):
  • Ability to analyze and record complex accounting transactions including, but not limited to, convertible debt, accounting for warrants and stock options, business combinations and asset acquisitions.
  • Ability to prepare consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
  • Ability to draft or review Management Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) or other exchanges.
  • Good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) a plus

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 3+ years PUBLIC accounting experience is highly required
  • 2 Years managerial/ senior experience within the role
  • 2+ years of experience drafting financial statements and footnotes
  • Working knowledge and usage of audit software systems including, Case Ware, ProSystems fx, and other database programs
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
