SENIOR ACCOUNTANT SUMMARY:

Premier Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Associates is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our quickly growing team. A strong foundation in accounting and business is necessary for the role as the company will look to you for guidance and support on our operations.

This position reports directly to the controller but is expected to take over important reconciliation and reporting duties for the company. The ideal individual will possess inherent leadership qualities, excellent oral and written communication skills and must be detail oriented.

An ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully operating in dynamic environments and should be comfortable setting up an international accounting function and working cross-functionally to resolve issues.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Records monthly cash activity for multiple entities, including bank account reconciliations.
  • Assists with the month end close process, including preparing related journal entries.
  • Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts (Assets and Liabilities) on a monthly basis. Investigates and reports on variances between actual and budgeted income statement amounts.
  • Records Fixed Assets into the Fixed Asset system as needed for multiple entities. Maintains and reconciles Fixed Asset Depreciation and Prepaid Amortization schedules.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
  • Assists with providing schedules and other related requests in conjunction with the annual audit.
  • Assists as needed with the annual budget process.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to company financial information.
  • Invoices and follows up on outstanding billings for non-patient service revenue.

EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA is strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five years accounting experience including one year of accounting experience in a health care organization.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices to identify and describe accounting systems and subsystems.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and of cost accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of budgeting practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer information systems and spreadsheets to present financial information.

SKILLS

  • Skill in customer service and working with providers, management and staff.
  • Skill in dealing with multiple projects and assignments.
  • Skill in dealing with changing priorities.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to analyze financial reports.
  • Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
