Job Description Summary:

Krystal Biotech, Inc is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant who will be responsible for assisting in the monthly close and financial reporting processes. This position’s core focus will be around preparation and review of assigned journal entries and account reconcilements, identification and investigation of variances, assistance in preparation of certain footnotes and disclosures and some special projects. The qualified candidate will apply their knowledge of general accounting principles and analysis skills to complete the required responsibilities. This role will interact with departments external to accounting to ensure relationships are positively maintained and will have exposure to external auditors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries to ensure integrity of accounting information
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by verifying and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Support reporting and analysis of monthly and quarterly results
  • Take leadership role in preparation of ad-hoc analyses and other projects as needed
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks timely and accurately
  • Interact regularly with management, auditors, external departments and other third parties
  • Prepare variance analyses to ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Prepare internal financial statements and various supporting schedules
  • Assist in the preparation of various schedules and documents to assist in SEC Reporting
  • Assist in the development of staff accountants
  • Assist with the quarterly reviews and annual audits and preparation of related supporting documentation
  • Review existing processes and procedures, and that of staff accountants, and make recommendations of opportunities for efficiency
  • Understand and support SOX compliance policies and assist in preparation of compliance with 404(b)
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA candidates strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience; industry experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills to enable review of prepared schedules
  • Must be extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong team and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong computer skills
