I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University has many students and alumni interested in health professions, and this position plays a critical role for GW students and alumni for the purposes of: understanding health career options; taking the appropriate courses and seeking involvement in complementary co-curricular and extracurricular activities; understanding how to be a competitive applicant to health graduate and/or professional school programs; understanding the application process and timeline for applying to a health graduate and/or professional school program; participating in our Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) evaluation process along with meeting other core competencies to prepare students and alumni for applying to health professional schools. This position works closely with GW Medical School to ensure BA/MD students are monitored and moving forward successfully in their accelerated program.

This Senior Academic Advisor position guides student development in the classroom, through academic advising and co-curricular programs and opportunities.
