Here’s the Gist
We provide you with a high impact area of ownership that enables both you and Wolfspeed to grow; ultimately playing a significant role in our future. As the Security Shift Lead, you will have an opportunity to directly guide, manage, and mentor members of our security operations staff and play a critical role in our program’s mission to protect people, property, and information. This position is a direct liaison between our department and our internal/external customers while also being responsible for running daily security operations for a large manufacturing campus. Our Security Shift Lead coordinates security and emergency response in our HQ locations and takes ownership of all security interactions during their shift. This position reports directly to our Security Operations Manager and will have the ability to work together with our department’s leadership team in key projects and assignments to continue to improve our program.
The Day-to-Day
  • Provide leadership, professional development, and guidance to security operations staff and other members of the security operations team
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of their assigned shift as it relates to tactical operations, emergency response, and personnel management
  • Serve as a security liaison to Wolfspeed key internal and external stakeholders to coordinate projects and provide critical services
  • Help develop and coordinate training for security operations staff including new hire training, ongoing development, training exercises and drills
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor their staff while also playing a critical role in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new personnel
  • Demonstrate a high level of leadership and accountability over their team’s performance and assigned responsibilities
  • Respond to all onsite emergencies and security incidents to provide support and coordinate response efforts
  • Perform routine and proactive patrols around our campuses while maintaining high visibility and engagement with Wolfspeed employees
  • Perform job functions inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
  • Assist other business units with requests for assistance (i.e. Security escorts, searches, terminations, traffic safety details)
  • Complete of training requirements and qualifications in Security Operations Center functions/procedures within six (6) months of hire.
  • Proficiently support Security Operations Center operations in a backup capacity
  • Any duties appointed by Wolfspeed Security Management Staff
  • This position reports directly to Wolfspeed’s Security Operations Manager.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the security industry, preferably in a large campus/site
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of leadership experience, preferably in the security field
  • Excellent leadership skills to guide, motivate and inspire individuals and teams to achieve business goals.
  • Strong sense of self-accountability and holds subordinates accountable.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to rapidly adapt to and operationalize different customer requirements and understand key business drivers.
  • Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communications, presentation, listening and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
