GENERAL SUMMARY

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring that the highest level of safety, security and service standards are maintained at all times to protect the residents, employees, and visitors, as well as the assets of our community, minor emergency maintenance functions and other required duties. The Security Officer will be a first responder along with EMT/Security staff in response to all emergency medical situations, which may require performing CPR and/or First Aid as needed for residents and staff.

• Evening Shift 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• PRINCIPLE DUTIES

• Patrols interior and exterior of buildings and grounds.
• Monitors the welfare of residents by performing daily status check procedures.
• Responds to resident and staff emergency medical situations along with the nursing or EMT/Security staff and escorts emergency personnel (i.e. fire department, ambulance, police) to scene of emergency.
• Responds to all emergency calls including but not limited to medical, fire, life-safety and security.
• Locks and unlocks designated doors as scheduled or required.
• Records all significant observations/happenings and other appropriate documentation.
• Takes proper actions during disasters in accordance with approved Community Emergency Manuals and Plans and communicates with appropriate personnel.
• Immediately contacts plant operations for life-safety equipment malfunction repair.

OTHER DUTIES

1.Escorts residents and staff as needed.

2. Monitors and controls parking on property.

4. Monitors and controls vendor services and parking on property.

5. Monitors and controls access to all Sagewood buildings by residents, staff and visitors.

6. Maintains all access controls, door locks, battery replacement, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EMT CERTIFICATE REQUIRED- Licensed in Arizona
• Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
• COVID SHOTS & FLU SHOT REQUIRED!!

• High school or GED
• One year security experience is required.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• CPR, First Aid certification and Arizona DPS unarmed guard certification.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English and make rational decisions in critical situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to walk inside and outside of the Sagewood campus and stand and/or climb stairs approximately 75% of each shift. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair or other devices up to 250 pounds. Requires manual coordination to operate telephones, radio, computer, and other business equipment. Normal vision and hearing required. May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals. Compliance with LCE COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is required for this position for all LCS Community employees.
