Position: Secondary Office Assistant (2022/23 School Year)


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or vocational school equivalent.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and office skills.

Reports to: Building Principal


In addition to assisting the Secondary School Secretary, the Office Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Do all copy requests for the instructional staff in a timely manner.
  • Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed and put into usable form.
  • Maintain a regular filing system.
  • Answer office telephone and respond appropriately to requests for information.
  • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence as instructed.
  • Greet all visitors courteously, determine their needs, check appointments and direct or escort them to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain an accounting of copy and paper costs and furnish a report to the central office.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
  • Perform such other office duties as may be assigned by Building or District Administration.

  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue
  • Requires some stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Hear and understand English at normal levels, indoors, outdoors, and on the telephone
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
  • Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions

This is a full-time, 10-month position, and is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
