PURPOSE OF THE JOB


Owens Corning’s Global Information Services (GIS) organization provides a technology platform that supports the company’s growing global business needs. In this organization, the SD-WAN Product Owner is a strategic and technical role accountable for planning and delivery of upgrades and optimizations.


Working closely with other GIS teams, business stakeholders, and key suppliers, this role provides leadership and expertise for usage, development, and evolution of the SD-WAN platform IT services are managed for high availability and performance with the goal to maximize productivity of business worldwide. Attention to quality, reliability, and efficiency is a key part of the role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Technical And Functional Leadership (60%)

    • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific processes and operations globally while becoming an invaluable partner to the organization.
    • In collaboration with the Automation and Observability Platform Analyst develop and review platform specific metrics and KPIs to track performance and provide ongoing performance analysis with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Reviews platform specific outages, incidents and service requests for recurring issues, trends and proper problem resolution. Researches and recommends platform specific action plans for improvement.
    • Responsible for the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and improvement of platform specific solutions that align with current network standards and strategy.
    • Build the documentation of network designs, including reviewing and archiving of best practices, as-built network drawings, test results, generating network architecture logical diagrams, IP address assignments, and device configurations.
    • Leads the development, implementation, testing and maintenance of platform disaster recovery (DR) plans, including backup and recovery procedures, system redundancy, and failover mechanisms.
    • Develop and continued growth of technical knowledge and expertise along with building industry specific external perspective.
    • Defines the global hardware, software, and transport standards that are integrative, sustainable, and easy to deploy to improve business efficiencies and performance.
    • Increase awareness of platform performance by capturing and highlighting performance data using modern visibility toolsets; bring an analytical capability and continuous improvement mindset.
    • Supervise platform specific life cycle of hardware and software. This includes verifying functional requirements though testing and documentation, design, process, test, transition, and training documentation and policies.
    • Identify platform specific integrations with other upstream or downstream GIS platforms that facilitate automated workflows, processes or alerting.
    • Monitor and validate licensing and support services to always ensure full software and maintenance compliance.


Collaborative Skills and Business Partnership (40%)

    • Build relationships and partner with Owens Corning 's functional stakeholders to understand their requirements and to deliver positive impact to the business.
    • Partner with project management teams to ensure appropriate estimates, quotes, sourcing documents, and other financial related materials are in place for timely and successful execution.
    • Establish strong relationships with our key partners to ensure alignment of the platform specific strategy and overall achievement and accuracy of defined SLAs, KPIs and inventory are delivered.
    • Lead operational service delivery teams and partners to implement corrective and improvement actions when services fall below defined targets.
    • Drive curiosity and a consultative mindset when working across business and manufacturing user communities to enhance product innovation, technology design, and platform development.
    • Develop platform specific roadmaps in collaboration with connectivity team that increase awareness of platform capabilities and establishes a clear short and long-term strategy for the platform.
    • Present new initiatives to architecture and project governance boards which include technical designs, cost models, support plans, and relevant information to successfully move initiatives forward.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • AS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or additional experience or certifications in lieu of degree.
    • 3-5 years of focused experience in enterprise networking experience.
    • Knowledge of modern enterprise network technology, operations and knowledge of SD-WAN, WAN transports and routing.
    • Understanding of IT operations, policies, and procedures, methodologies, roadmaps, and standards.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines within cross-functional teams.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
    • Experience and understanding of network technologies that span local, wide-area, wireless, and datacenter environments.
    • Working knowledge of cabling standards.
    • Familiarity with designing and deploying networks systems including contemporary security practices.
    • Building trust and connection across teams with proven ability to influence others and deliver results.
    • Experienced collaborating in a global, culturally diverse team environment.
    • Experience conveying relevant information clearly and with confidence across all levels of the organization.
    • Experience in aligning technical implementations with broader organizational strategies and goals.
