QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have a high school diploma or higher with strong skills in data entry, computer use and oral and written communications. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in medical office procedures are preferred. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to the public and clinic staff. Must have good organizational skills and be able to work independently.
JOB
SUMMARY:
Responsible for scheduling outpatient rehabilitation or wound care patients, managing appropriate paperwork from initial visit through discharge, answering telephone and directing calls appropriately, organizing/ordering and inventorying office supplies, copying and faxing documents as needed, facilitating communication between patients, therapists and other staff as appropriate, and providing information to patients on available services. Also responsible for computer charge entry, maintaining central filing system, responding to internal/external requests for copies of rehabilitation dept. medical records, pre-registration, registration and compliance activities, such as completing calls for medicare secondary payor. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
