Cancer care scheduling is complex, requiring unique training to ensure treatments are accurate. In Hartford there are thousands of appointment requests via EMR-and more by phone- to be scheduled per month. Due to very high department call volume, schedulers assist in cross covering for receptionist.

Work Hours/Shift:

• Full time 40hours day shift

You Will Be Responsible For :

• Exceptional Patient Care : Coordinates and schedules all oncology appointments for established patients such as, laboratory, chemotherapy infusion, Physician/APP, injections, chemotherapy education and more

• Excellent Communicator : Greets and interacts with patients, staff and public

• Strong Educator: Coordinates radiology studies

• Technical Familiarity: Manages internal/external referral appointments as requested by providers, nurses and other patient care team members

• Active Teamwork : Cross-trained to cover reception and patient registration

Requirements :

• Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent

• One to three years' experience in a health care office environment

• Medical terminology preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and computer skills

• Reliable transportation as other offices will need to be covered on occasion
