Saw Edger Operator

West Fraser is currently looking for individuals who are interested in a full-time, long-term career in a modern mill environment.

What you will do:

• Ability to maintain production levels set for this operation.

• Ability to maintain minimum waste of product.

• Ability to grade the product.

• Assist in clearing jams/hang-ups on the Sharp Chain and Versa Gang.

• Assist in maintenance repair on the machine and its components.

• Ability to override the computer for operation.

• Ability to start the 48" chipper and vibrating conveyor for the waste removal system of the saw edger.

• Maintain daily operator checklist.

• Any and all other duties as assigned by your supervisor

• Work under the direction of the supervisor
• Adhere to all mill safety policies and procedures

What you need to be successful:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment
• Ability to bend, twist, lift, climb, stand throughout the duration of the shift
• Ability to work days, nights, rotating shifts, holidays and weekends
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Minimum of six (6) months in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background, drug screen, and physical
